Guinea peppers, scientifically known as “Afromomium meleguata”, the “alligator pepper”, belongs to the family “Zingiberaceae”, the ginger family. They have a long history in Yoruba traditional religion and are indispensable inside any Ifa shrine, gathering, or ceremonial rite such as wedding dowry offerings, Chieftancy titles etc. Ataare is used to activate orisa, masticated and sprayed onto the otas of certain orisa with a mixture of oti/white drinking alcohol. You receive two pods per order shipped in a small box so as not to break or lose seeds, which is important for certain Ifa medicine preparations. There are dozens and dozens of small seeds inside each pod. Ships USPS ground post flat rate within the USA.
